Pahalgam Attack Victim’s Daughter Recalls Tragedy, Seeks Justice and End to Terrorism

Date:

PUNE, MAHARASHTRA — Asavari Jagdale, daughter of Santosh Jagdale who lost his life in the Pahalgam terror attack, shared an emotional account of the incident on its one-year anniversary, calling it a “black day” for her family.

Speaking in Pune, she recalled how the trip to Pahalgam had begun on a joyful note, with the family looking forward to spending time together. “We were very happy when we planned the trip. Even after reaching there, we were clicking pictures,” she said, describing how the situation changed drastically within a short span of time.

She recounted that within an hour, their lives were completely altered by the sudden attack, describing the fear and shock experienced by those present. Referring to the incident, she spoke about the trauma of being confronted by an armed attacker and the circumstances that led to the loss of innocent lives.

Jagdale questioned the circumstances surrounding the attack, stating that people should not be targeted based on religion, and emphasised that individuals do not choose the faith they are born into. Her remarks reflected the deep emotional impact and unanswered questions faced by victims’ families.

She also mentioned Operation Sindoor, stating that it targeted those responsible and dismantled their base. However, she подчеркнул that true justice, in her view, would only be achieved when terrorism is completely eradicated.

Her statement highlights the lasting pain and trauma experienced by families affected by acts of terrorism, even a year after the incident.

Leaders and citizens across the country have been remembering the victims of the attack, with renewed calls for stronger security measures and a continued fight against terrorism.

Asavari Jagdale’s emotional account serves as a reminder of the human cost of terrorism, underlining the need for justice, accountability, and lasting peace.
