RPF Rescues Children from Train at Katni, Handed Over to Welfare Authorities..

In a significant rescue operation, Railway Protection Force officials intercepted a group of children aboard a train at Katni, acting on intelligence inputs received from multiple agencies.

Speaking on the incident, Virendra Singh said that the operation was carried out on Train No. 17609, which was en route to Pune. The action was initiated based on specific information indicating that the children were being transported under circumstances that required intervention.

He stated that the children were being taken for rescue following inputs from different agencies, prompting immediate action by the RPF.

Upon interception, the children were safely taken into custody by authorities and subsequently handed over to the concerned welfare agencies for further care and assessment.

Officials from the Child Welfare Committee and other child protection authorities were present at the scene and took charge of the situation, ensuring that proper legal and protective procedures were followed.

He confirmed that the Child Welfare Committee and child welfare authorities are now taking necessary action regarding the rescued children.

The involvement of multiple agencies highlights a coordinated effort to prevent potential trafficking or exploitation and to ensure the safety of minors. Authorities are expected to conduct further inquiries to determine the circumstances under which the children were travelling and whether any illegal activity was involved.

The rescue operation underscores the importance of vigilance and inter agency coordination in safeguarding vulnerable individuals, especially children, during transit.
